Initially face-to-face but then I have no objection to continuing a dialogue using social media tools. Email is ok, but now we have IM, online chat, video conferencing etc. I use Glance quite a lot (Where you can see another persons desktop mirrored on your own) This allows for demonstrations and live demonstration.

Umm - well, it would actually be nice to receive any advice - in anyway (internet, phone or face-to-face).

Since I started my business the only tangible help I have had has been through this forum - thanks guys :)

I approached a number of agencies (business link, chamber of commerce, legi etc) and in all honesty, they were about as useful as a chocolate fireguard..

I will always come back to this forum should I need any advice as it is run by people in business, for those in business.

It is also more reassuring to know that the majority of questions I have had - have at some time or another been experienced by those on the forum. So personal experience is much better than theory.

Thanks once again to all on this forum who have helped with their comments (both positive and negative) as it has helped put my thoughts into perspective.

Mind you, it might be the subject matter of my business that makes these agencies hesitant...

Face to face until a trust has been developed then it can be by phone, email or starship;)

The only issue for me is the person given the advice knows what they are talking about and for me to that I like to be in the same room as them so I can see their reactions and movements to my questions and answers.

I find it a lot harder to tell a bluffer on the phone than I do face to face

Are you and me going to live to see the reality of this ? I hope so but probably not:|

Also as someone who thinks everyone can do something that blows their mind with little on no money " no not the drugs" I am not sure this play ground of the super rich is a good thing.

Then again it may be something we need in the future which I hope it does not become:(

I use all three methods to coach my clients. I do like to eyeball them at the start of the relationship but the majority of the coaching in my book was done via phone and especially conference calls. However one of my favourites is email. I can read carefully what my client says and pick up the key words more easily. The client gets to read my reply and can refer to it any time. I can also emphasise actions etc and record them on email. It is all so much more accountable. Before you deride this you might be interested to know that Team GB Germain Mason who gained silver for the high jump in Beijing was coached from the US – by email!
