Many of us run ecommerce systems - theres a few different 'trust' certificates around designed to make the web visitor feel comfortable with buying from you...

If you had to pay £1000 via a website to a business you were not familiar with before today, which one of these images would make you feel most secure?...

If I were to choose from the perspective of an average punter, which might be what Rob is asking for, I'd go 6,5,3,2,4,1.
Verisign looks 'bankish', a good thing.
'Shop' and 'Safe' are nice key words, and it's a co.uk, which is comfortable for domestic sales/punters.
Safebuy & BBB; OK, neither good nor bad, marginal plus effect
Both 'Accredited Retailer'; look made up, marginal minus effect.

I think the feelgood factor is achieved by the card symbols as much as any of these.

No.6, I have seen the VeriSign on many websites. I seen No.3 a couple of times and never seen the others before.

I wouldn't necessarily buy a product from a website solely because it has the VeriSign logo. Support and company info is a good start, SSL certificate, Padlock (although not available with IE7) etc etc
