best parcel carrier

Now that Fastway in Teeside, East Yorks has closed who do you recommend for about 20 parcels a week. Must be reliable, delivered within 2 days and an economical price.

Hi bublibob,

Fastways have a habit of doing just that ! The franchisees are new to the industry and taken in by unsustainable projections - The system of buying books of delivery tickets up-front from the franchisee and then the parent company washing their hands when things don't work out absolutely stinks, but it does help drive down the percieved value of a good courier service.

Visit my homepage then give me a ring.

These things are best talked about !

IMHO the majority of the overnight carriers are all much of a muchness in terms of deliveries & customer service. pricing will depend on the type & volume of teh shipments you send out & the delivery standard you require. If you have the business to warrant it, ask a company rep to visit & see how they compare.

Whichever company you choose, get to know the customer service staff & collection/delivery drivers - it m ight make an important difference when something goes wrong. The other thing to remember is that the local office staff are usually at the mercy of the information shown on their systems - everything else usually relies on the (unofficial) flexibility of local offices to help solve your problem.

Just trying a new courier now. They have taken15 parcels so far before I have even opened an account so they haven't charged a penny yet.
I don't pay up front but settle my account at the end of the month so they have to provide the service they advertise. Unlike some carriers that still charge you for a parcel they lost and then charge you again for sending a replacement they only charge me for parcels that arrive the next day, the prices are right as well.
They are not actual carriers but agents so if all goes well in a couple of months I shall be singing their praises on the forum
