Outsourced Customer Service

I'm just a bit curious about virtual customer service business and outsourcing, that's why I thought I'll start a fresh thread on this.

Is anyone into this business? Would love to know a wee bit of information on this and will highly appreciate if there is a link you can provide that discuss this matter in greath depth. (have googled some - but can't get enough info on this matter)

Do you think that this business is worth a go? Possible problems to deal with? and other issues/pointers I should bear in mind.

We are the customer services department and technical helpdesk for a number of businesses (small and large).

We handle customer interactions mainly by phone, but also through live web chat, by email and post.
