vista print trying to cancel website

Hi,
Is anyone else having problems with Vista print?

I ordered some business cards almost a year agao and am 100% sure I did not ask for a website.
There is an opt out button and I thought I did unselect it but found that I have been being charged 3.46 a month ever since.
So, when I realised I was being charged, (no email telling me I had bought a web site!) I logged in and cancelled the web site.

Next month I was charged again, logged back in and hey ho it showed I was opted in again. I repeated the cancelling.

Next month I was charged agan and deselected again and rang up. I was told that I had not confirmed the cancellation so it did not count. But they agreed to refund the latest charge and set it to cancelled.

Guess what, they have not refunded!!

AAArgh.
Why does a company which did have a good reputation do something like this?
Buying business cards does not imply a need for a web site. This should not be auto select-in. Cancellation should be open and hones.
I am now going to request a refund for all the charges from my credit card.

DO NOT TOUCH THEM!

Vista print asre well known for this, they used to sign everybody up to a "club" which was just spam of all their latest offers. They wouldn't cancel and had to get your cc / bank involved.
They had moved on since then but looks like they are back to their shadey tactics again.

Bought my first batch of business cards a couple of weeks ago and they arrived very quickly. These were the free ones. Which then end up having various costs added on so I ended up paying quite a bit for them !

Emails. Started getting several emails a day which annoyed me but opted out and none received since.

Maybe the OP has an 'old' account which you might as well close and start a new one. Or maybe I got lucky.

I really sympathise with you Christine.

I don't tend to go near vistaprint.

My suggestion is you check whether you membership of any professional or business related organisations gives you access to free legal advice.

Failing that, an e-mail to the CEO or MD of the organisation normally gets things moving. Ask for all your money back on the website which you didn't ask for.

If you are on twitter, start tweeting about your problems with Vistaprint. Some enlightened companies listen to what people are saying about them, and quickly step in to sort out the problem.

Good luck.

Did you pay with a debit/credit card? Maybe get it cancelled and have a new one sent out so they can't keep charging it.

Not an ideal solution mind, but if nothing else works?

Actually, thinking back to another post I read on UKBF, is it possible to put blocks on an account to stop specific companies charging your card ect.?

Not according to my bank, I fell for a vista print scam, informed my bank who said I had to cancel with the company first- send the bank the cancellation details, and any payments after that they would block or refund.

I did eventually get a few month's refunded and a block with the credit card. But could not persuade the credit card co that I had never opted for this in the first place.

The trouble was I had not spotted it for a few months as it was only a small fee (3.99) I guess Vista print make a lot on it sliding under the noticeable level.

Vista Print are something of a joke amongst graphic designers. They are a by-word for poor quality. Best not to touch them with a barge-pole.

Personally - I'd be after them for a refund. Imagine how much money they are making through this scam!

Well there was me thinking that since I had sorted it out with my credit card ( three or four phone calls and two letters) that it was over.

They refunded back three months and told me the direct debit was blocked.

Just realised that Vistaprint ave continued taking the fee.

Another phone call I think becons in the morning!!!

I must say I have used Vista Print before and had no problems (so far ;)), and I am sorry to hear about your situation with them..

I have just seen a note on the internet, they have a Revenue of US$670 million!!! Is it just me, who is absolutely astonished by that figure.... especially as they only launched in 2000..

I got stung by them and their stupid club offers some years back.
I got my own back though.
They sent me an e mail with free this, free that and free postage.
I ordered via the link. I got 250 business cards, 25 folded leaflets, a cap, a pen, 50 postcards, 25 letter heads and loads more stuff.
Then I clicked through the same link and presto it worked again. So I ordered all the same again, 20 times.
It all came and cost me nothing. You cant do it now. I think they realised their was a flaw in their system. LOL.

I too had problems a few years ago with Vistaprint. What ever you order you have to make sure at time of check out to make sure to check or uncheck boxes to make sure you dont apply for something you dont want.
In my case I was sure that I didnt accept anything but a few months after the order whilst checking my bank statements found that I was paying for a Vista awards programme. I telephoned them and complained and in my case I was sent a full refund. I still use Vistaprint as I believe the prices they charge cant be beaten but do pay particular attention during checkout that I dont apply for something I dont want.

My experience of Vista Print was actually quite good - I ordered some business cards that I designed myself, but when they arrived and I added one to my stack of business cards I saw that they were not the standard business card size.

This was a bit frustrating because pretty much every other business card (out of about 200) was a standard size. So why would I want my card to be the only one that was slightly smaller?

However when I complained they were very nice and professional and I did get my money back in full and got to keep the cards which was very nice of them.

Yes, Paul in general I think there very good but as I pointed out in my last post you have to be very careful during checkout that you dont opt for something you dont want. The check out that they operate at the end is a bit of a hard sell experience. The other thing to remember with Vista is that they offer a quicker turn around on the order for a more expensive delivery option. The reality is that its never as long as they state for the cheaper delivery option so go for that unless in your in an immediate rush and keep the price low.

Goodprint are very quick and good and I love their online design capability.

I wouldn't go near Vistaprint again for anything as I am sure I opted out ( it is a default opt in which is naughty) but it may have reset if the page regenerated?!

I spoke with the card company who were going to give me a refund and take it up with Vistaprint as the protocol is that they should stop charging but don't! I think it may come down to closing the card.
