Funding
You will need to secure funding for your online perfume business. You may need to invest your own money into the business or seek out investors. Once you have the funding you need, you can start purchasing supplies and inventory for your business. The amount of funding you need depends on:- If you start our own perfume brand, then you'll require significant investment in creating your own scent, and develop the bottle and packaging. You'll also require significant investment to let your new fragrance stand out from the crowd, such as collaboration with influencers.
- If you don't want to sell your own brand, you need to check if you want to keep stock or start with drop-shipping direct from a supplier first. With the latter option, you don't need to invest in stock, so the expected cost becomes much more manageable and perhaps you don't need to raise any funds if you can setup the website yourself.
- For personalised fragrances, you need to have equipment in-house as fragrances are going to be made to order. This may require investment. However, stocking ingredients is going to be much cheaper than stocking finished bottles of perfumes.
