I'm looking to change hosted VOIP suppliers. We have a clash between our VOIP suppliers and IT contractors who have to come in and fix what the VOIP suppliers have 'allegedly' broken every visit - at a cost of £1,000 per time. Neither will talk to each other. We don't want them all in the...
PJPerez the few times I've tried skype in the past (using video) I found it jerky and ended up turning the video off. The IM would be fine for my purposes as I'm a fast typist - but I think they need face to face. This is a work in progress and I will try to remember to report back once it's...
We were thinking of perhaps a dedicated tablet each - as this wouldn't interfere with what's on the screen - but the benefit of attaching mike and cam to the desktops i guess is that they are 'wired' so there wouldn't be any problem/lag with wifi. The 'conference call' would last all working...
Thanks for all replies so far. Definitely not surveillance. It's for two people working together in a team and the junior needs to consult with the partner and vice versa. They usually sit opposite each other in the office but the partner needs to spend more time at home because of the children.
I hope this isnt a silly question but I should be very grateful for any advice/suggestions on the easiest/best way for a computer operator at home to remain in contact with her boss visually and aurally throughout the working day (I suppose without having to make a call or press any buttons) -...
The voip comes in on broadband - into a Draytek 2830 router
The (separate) fibreoptic for our data is going to come into the same router - and then through the cyberroam unit.
they are both to use the same router - which can switch if one of the lines goes down apparently.
In fact i got the order of connection wrong - the fibreoptic comes into the router (with its integrated firewall) - and the router then plugs into the cyberroam firewall - if the info goes through two firewalls (but on different machines) should that be a problem? it's not like two firewalls on...
This is complicated so I hope i can explain it properly
We currently have two broadband lines - one data one VOIP
we've now gone fibreoptic which is enabled but not connected up as we are changing MX name tomorrow night - and i've got a fight on my hands - 2 suppliers sharing responsibilities...
"The failover system allows a business to connect two ISP Internet connections into the one Modem/Router. Primarily one ISP will be used, but if that disconnects or loses connection, your other ISP will kick in straight away meaning you won’t lose internet for a second."
Our VOIP comes in on...
Am veering towards our VOIP company that take away the worry of downtime (good for our business continuity plan) all down to their knowledge, our VOIP broadband line in together with our fibreoptic line in - and this new 'failover' system. Telephony is too big and complicated a subject for the...
Thanks every for your replies
1. we're a business - so BTbusiness
2. I was thinking of using our fax line (BT) so wouldn't want to change number which i think we'd have to if we changed supplier
3. Our VOIP is on a different line
4. Our VOIP /telephony guys say they can "set up a 'failover' for...
Questions to ask before committing to BT infinity
As BT phone customers suddenly, unexpectedly, in a fibre-optic enabled area and excited to move from 4.5mbps to estimated 80mbps - we are considering going with BT. I'm worried though about downtime on Day One for our seven-person...
