Risk of large amount of cash in one account

Thanks :) Yes we're very happy with how things have been going! Not interested in bonds, the interest rates are not that much better than what we get at the moment to justify the lock in of the money (am seeing 1year bonds for 2% when we get 1.1% from our bank account). Would rather have the...

Risk of large amount of cash in one account

Found a property for £500k in an exellent location. Excess space would allow us to get £4-£6k rent per month. Minus costs, we're looking at ~3% to 4% of the property value per year returned which is a lot more than our current 1.1% in the savings account.

Risk of large amount of cash in one account

Because we've got nothing to spend it on! Nothing wrong with keeping cash, perhaps not optimal but better than making a mistake with it. We run a small software company, our revenues are ~£400k per year, pretax profit of ~£300k. We're thinking about purchasing our own office building with the...

Hello, We have almost £500,000 sitting in a savings account for our business. We don't have any plans to spend or move it any time soon. Are there risks of having this amount in one bank? For example, if a bank went bankrupt, could we potentially lose a lot of it? Should we diversify, or...

Hello, We invested a lot of money in Bitcoin 6 months ago. It's now worth quite a lot. We could sell them and pay capital gains on them and deposit the money into the business account. But we were wondering if it's possible to pay a dividend out in Bitcoin. My co director wants to...

    Calling yourself a regulated business

Specifically relating to a financial service that allows users to buy Bitcoin, and allows users to sell Bitcoin. Is this an active relationship, or would simply being registered with the legally required bodies to operate this business be sufficient to call yourself "Full Regulated"?

    Who's responsible for this?

Just phoned up HMRC, they told me: - Our software counts as 'services' and not goods - VAT is NOT due on sales of services outside the scope of VAT, even if you're signed up to Flat Vat scheme It's good we got clarification, I think what's happened is our accountant assumed our sales are for...
