Hello.
The place I normally get my small (13mm and 20mm) pull bows from has stopped selling them. Can anyone recommend somewhere online I'd be able to get them at a reasonable price?
Thanks :)
Saturday seemed to be a day of "how many teenagers can you fit in a tiny shop".
Do people have no common sense? Why do ten of them need to come in if only 2 of them are buying something?! Then they stand in front of the door so no one else can get in or out
All our current units are from ikea. But they have stopped making them :( We need more shelving but with them not being made anymore, any we did get wouldn't match the rest of the shop :(
That sounds a good price to me! We're trying to find someone to make units for our shop but we're not having much luck. We've only managed to get one quote so far and it was quite a lot more than your £5k. Fingers crossed for the bloke coming to visit tomorrow.
Hi,
I thought I'd reply as didn't want to just read and run. I know that horrible feeling when you discover some competition. It happened to me about a month ago. That horrible sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach :(
How big is the town where your shop is? Is the new shop a national...
Oh thank you for this thread!! It's going to be my new home ;)
I love my job but sometimes people leave you speechless. I will be logging on here the next time someone makes me scream at them in my head
This one made me giggle more than be annoyed. It was a busy Saturday...
I've had that problem too. I like chatting to customers, that's one of the nice things about independent shops like ours. But it's awkward isn't it! I hate offending people. I tend to say "excuse me two seconds" to the chatterbox, then smile at the customer waiting behind and ask them what I can...
Oh I so feel your pain! I sometimes have those days where it seems all the "idiots" head to my shop. Inside I am screaming at them, but I have to put on a smiley face and be nice and polite. Even when they are being plain rude.
It might sound silly but I started writing down the stupid things...
I don't think you're horrid at all, what you say makes sense :)
I do ignore the teenagers who do it because I know fine well they just want the attention and think they look cool in front of their mates. A lot of them also ask the price of things even though they are clearly labelled. It...
Does this happen in other people's shops or is it just in mine - I will be talking to a customer and another one will come into the shop and ask me something - no waiting until I've finished serving the first customer. They don't even say "excuse me". Some just poke their head round the door...
We ask for a 50p donation per jar, with the money going to charity. I've had a few people who get a bit rude if they want a jar but I don't have any spare. I am not an "empty sweet jar shop" It's the same with toffee trays. People want them for baking and get quite upset if I don't have...
I was in a similar situation. I worked with a lovely bloke but he smelled really bad. The managers didn't do anything about it. It gave a bad impression to customers even though he was great at his job. Always tricky situations those ones.
