Degree classification....Would you hire a 3rd class graduate?

I got a 2.2 at uni - basically I went in about 10 times in the whole three years. I used to think that if I got up everyday and did nothing, I would be happy doing that for the rest of my life. When employers have asked me in the past I just come clean and say I spent too much time socialising...

Will VAT registering ruin my business?

Thanks for the replies. I think really I need to drill into the figures to work out just how viable this all is. I've worked out that from August last year to about June we turned over about 85k, but of this profit was 25k, so its not looking perhaps as rosy as the turnover indicated. I like...

Will VAT registering ruin my business?

I was saying that about the pay merely because some are paid more than others. For the sake of argument, say they take home £5.80 after deductions, if you want an average. We pay about £90 per month liability insurance. Any more comments much appreciated.

Will VAT registering ruin my business?

Currently I run a service for clients where we charge by the hour, most clients having 2 - 8 hour per week of our service. We charge £12 per hour for this and pay our employees around £6-7 per hour. After a difficult start we are on track this year to make over 70k turnover and therefore I need...

    employee allegedly stolen item

I think the suggestion that I let the client report the theft would be the best one. I don't think he did steal it, he gave some poor excuse that he had to leave the country as his grandmother was ill and now we cant contact him, but up until then he seemed to be ok. I just don't think he liked...

    employee allegedly stolen item

That's it yeah. I'm not sure if anyone else had access to the property. I would imagine though he turned up to do the work, the landlord left, then at the end the new tenants arrived. After this time the landlord probably let the tenant know where the phone was but they couldn't find it, so the...

    employee allegedly stolen item

A client of mine has alleged that a phone has been stolen whilst my employee was in his property. It isnt of great value, perhaps £100, but the client says that when he left it was there and when the new tenants arrived at the end of the work he was carrying out, it was gone. The employee was a...

    selling products

I posted before in the general business forums section, but threads get knocked off the front page a bit quickly there. I am a salesman with a proven track record, looking to punt products to retailers within the London area. If you have any products you would like me to try and sell for you...

    selling products

I'm really looking for a finished product, that I could go and punt to retailers and they place an order with the supplier through me. I would then take a commission cut but the supplier would arrange the shipping etc. That way I wouldn't have to stockpile or buy stock in a sense, as I'm trying...

    selling products

I'm a salesman with a good track record and I'm interested in 'doing a dragons den' and pitching new products to retailers within the London area. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I might find inventors or product developers with new products that they would like to sell to...
