my experience of the UK oilive oil market is, that people want extra virgin and people want cheap. your average uk punter does not have the palate to differentiate between cretan, spanish or any other type.

I think there might actually be a market going the other way, importing Spanish olive oil to Cyprus.
Everything is very expensive here, even locally produced olive oil which should be more competetive than imports.
Spanish imports are excellent quality. They are very cheap compared to others and widely available in all supermarkets, discount stores like Netto etc and certain grocers.
