Thank you. It's actually on private grounds, so not a typical one, such as a high street market. That's OK though I'll just cook it, chill it down and reheat whilst I'm there
OK I will check this out and get some. I'll ve happy to contribute to someone's fee's... can you use normal electric items with this like my soup kettles or do I need to use special types of items ?
Oh good thinking about the Christmas Market. I'll check it out... in terms of this event in June, its just hard because it is only me cooking so I can only cook so much or even prep so much by myself and store so much stuff home. I'm thinking to have 4 dishes and make 200 portions of each ( I...
Oh this sounds great and they serve it cold interesting, I wouldnt think of serving cold food or think there's a market for it.. We are similar, as in a Caribbean Island but less known than Barbados. Its a mixture of Guyanese food and South American.
This does get me excited for the future. This business was purely set up as a gap in the market for my local area, as a home food takeaway service but this summer I thought lets just do all the local town market stalls- starting with the kings Coronation. From those events, I started talking to...
This sounds so good. I am really thinking about having market stalls since talking to this group. Its never been something I though I would become, as it is a bit of a hassle getting all the inital items needs and storing at home but you know what, there is clearly some serious money to be made...
Hi, Yes so I used the thermo Box for the kings coronation market stall and it was fantastic - my first time. Everything was steaming hot after 3 hours and was still in the safe zone.
oh true, yh I forgot people use it in BBQ's. Yh I will look into it. I just need to work out
Hi All, thanks everyone who messaged. I got some great advise and I feel this question is now BUT I want to see your views on a general preference between Generators and Gas... Im mindful I have another...
Yes, it will be busy, the intention was never about feeding the masses though. Between 2 people, we dont have the capacity to even prepare for 1000+ people. I am going to explore the gas idea and just see if it will work for us but one of the venue requires a gas certificate, so I need to...
Using gas was an option but I do not know anything about it and with buying gas I will then need to hire a van to hold the gas, hire the hot plates and other equipment for my rice and curry. Also how will I actually get the gas from the van to my stall.. Ill need to buy a trolley or something to...
I will charge my sum up reader and bring a portable but I think that wont be an issue, it had more than 50% battery by 4 hours on Saturday and my longest market still is open to the public for 5.5 hours.
Thats good to know you have actually used this method, thanks for sharing. I can add a couple to them to the Thermo boxes that are on 'standby' for replenishment. That way they will stay hot for even longer.
Bloody hell! that's a lot lol. I might be a bit out of my depth with these events Ive got lined up haha. I don't even have the man power to make that many meals.. I was thinking 200 orders will be great for our little business.
I heard about this from doing some research online. I have never heard of anyone using this method before. Have you actually tried it? it sounds like a very cost effective short term heat filler. Im interested in the idea.
Yes I have amended my insurance to cover food markets. So my thinking is the other boxes wont be opened until needed. I will have my initial cooked food in the chafing dishes and once that needs replenishing them I will open up another box and refill the chafing dishes with it. the brand states...
