Are you sure? I would definitely be clarifying this with someone who knows what they're talking about (not just a customer services lackey).
Surely at the worst I can only imagine it counts as a 'cosmetic modification' - perhaps declarable but unlikely to affect your premium in any meaningful...
Advertising should be fine in Administrative expenses (it isn't likely to make any significant difference to anything)
Although I see your logic, this doesn't make it a Cost of Sale. Arguably without the phone lines and the internet connection you wouldn't be able to make contact with your...
Some excellent stuff in here - thank you all.
Clearly it can both be an issue for some and a complete non-issue for others, depending on individual circumstances. Personally I'm pleased to see a lot of business owners don't perceive it to be a major issue for themselves (self-confidence)...
Hah! What an issue! Nor does basic schooling, in my experience, really cover some of the most important aspects of life - finances and budgeting, mortgages, housing, politics, diet and nutrition etc etc. A very valid point and I think it's a real shame our education system can be too focused on...

VAT registered: Purchase cost £75, sales price £100 (+ VAT) = profit £25
Don't forget...
@E.Gardner - If I can be of any use then I'd be happy to help with your research (although I imagine by phone / email may be easier for logistical reasons ;)). I'm a late 20s qualified accountant in South Essex, worked in practice for ~9 years from trainee to manager if it helps.
Just drop me...
No you don't! You're the customer - it's your decision what you want :).
Firstly, do you get the service you want for a price you are happy with? At the end of the day, you are trusting a professional with your financial affairs which could end up saving or costing you a good deal of money -...
