Redundancy & PILON - but no employment contract

Many thanks for the reply. It was very useful and I hope she managed to negotiate a good exit package. This company are fairly bad with legislation. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Redundancy & PILON - but no employment contract

A friend of mine has been told she is going to be made redundant from her job at a small company. She has been there for five years, but has never had a written contract - just a letter of appointment that sets out hours, holiday and salary. She has a meeting on Friday to discuss options etc...

    Twitter & Facebook for B2B

Had a quick search, but couldn't find a thread on this previously. I work for a company who sell products to garages. Over the last few years we have seen a steady 10% increase in our turnover. However not for the last financial year, where we just did the same as the previous year. We have...

    Competitor using our image

We have discovered that one of our competitors has lifted an image off our website and used it on their website. It is one that we have taken and then our web designer has changed to show a certain product - it is a unique photo - no chance of being a lucky duplicate. What is the best way...

Quickbooks Question - Recently added customers

Personally I have never used Quickbooks. In Sage/Act there is an option to add a "date created" column, so I can easily see new customers who have been added in a given time frame. Is there an option in in QB to easily extract this information as I need it for a Marketing Report. I don't...

    Mobile phone tracking

Can anyone recommend a company who can provide mobile phone tracking without buying expensive handsets. We have a team of off-site tradesmen, some of who appear to not be where they should be and we want to be able to track them using their company mobile phones. Obviously we would advise...

Where to recruit a sales/marketing team?

Firstly you need to decide exactly what you want this person to do and write a job description - it can be fairly loose. I assume that they will be cold calling rather than face to face. Do you want someone who can do a bit of marketing - ie brochures, fact sheets - what software will you...

    would i be breaching a contract ?

The 20% increase in sales meant that he had to pay the workers overtime to get the jobs finished and this had an effect on the profit margin and therefore his bonus as it was profit related. :( My commission was seen as an overhead which needed trimming.
