Do you have to pay yourself if you start a Ltd company?

No, but it often makes sense to pay yourself a salary on paper and not take it, so that it builds up as a directors loan. You can then withdraw this tax free in the future. I'm not an accountant, talk to an accountant to find out the most tax efficient way you run your company.

    Translation Services

https://gengo.com/ seems like a large company with a wide range of languages - I've not used them myself, I was actually looking at working for them.

    Furlough, latest guidance

Could they not furlough themselves for a set amount of time? Eg 3 months, so would not need anyone to rehire them at the end of the 3 months.

    Recommended 3PL?

I use this company https://www.thefulfillmentco.com/ - they've been great so far (I've been with them about 8 years I think) but they've not issued any statement about COVID-19. They're based in Essex.

Quick Question - Have you heard of Shopware?

I've heard the name, but no idea what they are/what they do. From the name, it sounds like ecommerce software.

how to deduct funds from a costumers as stated in T&C's

Car hire companies do something similar with your credit card, sometimes even authorising a large amount (but not actually taking the money), then if you damage the car or don't bring it back then they can actually take the money. (I don't know how this works legally, etc, just posting this as...

Paypal to keep fees from refunds - 2020 Policy update

Two things: It's the seller who doesn't get their fees refunded (the buyer doesn't pay fees), and this policy comes into effect on March 5th for UK sellers (it came in to effect last year for US sellers, no idea for Chinese sellers).

Few questions about VAT and income tax opening online shop.

As a small company, I think you will find it easier to keep everything is one country, either register in and dispatch from Latvia or register in and dispatch from the UK. Although if your customers are in Latvia, I'd keep it all in Latvia, posting from the UK might end up with import taxes in...

Hello! and a question of VAT.

From Poland: If we're still in the EU, then no. If we've left the EU, then they shouldn't charge you Polish VAT, but then you probably have to pay it on import, along with possibly import tax. (Would be similar to importing from China in this case.)

    That Cookie Warning, though!

I hardly see any now since I installed this extension https://www.i-dont-care-about-cookies.eu/ What's annoying me now is some US sites just blanket blocking the EU because of the GDPR regulations. That certainly backfired. Although a VPN usually works.

Cheeky request for help with my CV!

Maybe I don't fully understand what you mean, but why can't you just make a list of some (or all if appropriate) of the tasks you do and the skills you use. If the tasks are varied, eg ordering stock, bookkeeping, customer service, then listing them individually is maybe the only way.

    Joined up thinking?? Websites-POS-Accounts-CRM

There are various systems which connect apps together to allow data sharing, but the ones that connect lots of apps that I know of don't have both OpenCart and Kashflow: https://www.onesaas.com has OpenCart but not KashFlow https://www.connectmyapps.com/ has KashFlow but not OpenCart (you get a...

Another vote for Transferwise, I've been using them for years, no problems, seems pretty cheap to me.
