Hi - there are quite a few property forums around where you may be able to hook up with like minded people
I don't think I can post the names here - but do a search for property forums or property blogs and i am sure that will point you in the right direction
Please be aware there are quite a...
Hi,
I run a property lettings business. We use T&Cs which have been put together over the years.
Having now read the forum I am thinking that perhaps it would be wise to get these checked over and okayed by a solicitor - is this a complete belts and braces approach that I need to do?
What...
Uriel - don't know how you are getting on - but we are in Burslem and we have quite a few independent art/ craft style businesses flourishing this end of town - may be worth a visit oop north?
As the founder and owner of a property lettings agency I would have to say
Seriously are you sure?
I am mammothly concerned by your predicted budget of £200 for a software package. We have cfp and it cost £3.5k.
If that's your anticipated budget for critical software (which you will need to...
After years of building up a sizeable portfolio (and starting a letting agency to manage mine and other landlords properties) I would say that you have to decide how busy you want to be with the properties.
Now, I am looking at paring back. My original start point (and this was good advice in...
Thanks for that. I have just spoken to the office based member of staff and they're going to swap roles for a month. I have decided to see it in a positive light and that they can both learn what the other does :)
As a full time property developer/ investor and owner of a managing agency I would say property investment is a great way to make money. It's not rocket science - it's like buying any other investment - you hope/plan that it will pay it's way and when you sell it, it will be worth more.

Hi,
I have just been called by a member of staff who while they were on paid holiday for the week has been caught speeding and has had their licence taken from them for 28 days.
Problem is they are a property viewer and thus need a car to do their job. Without a licence they can now only do...
yes - they now are! they could've saved me a lot of money, time and hassle!
This is a classic reason why business owners should get on with what they do and allow the experts to do what they do!
Classic - the accountants have sorted and I have overpaid by over £600 and haven't even claimed SSP I was entitled to!
GRR even more annoying to get fined when I have overpaid as well!!
Oh crikey so I'm lucky with a £400 fine! Jesus this just seems so out of proportion - my wage bill is only £1500 per month (we're having to run a tight ship!)
Not to my knowledge as anything I recieve I call the accountant and ask what am i meant to do!
Anyway, now I guess I have learned my (expensive) lesson and will get someone who knows what they're doing to sort this
Thanks I am going to send this link (thanks David) to the accountant now sorting out my payroll. I wouldn't mind I haven't been trying to avoid tax or NI - i have been paying online! If i hadn't been paying then yes I understand I have done something wrong!
I literally knew nothing of this p35...
Yes I know that now from this fine
My issue is why I was not informed prior to this date?
Nice they can fine me, shame they can't remind me. Just a little bit of help for a small business owner would go a long way from HMRC
