I don't get the joke but we are number 1 on Google or near the top of page 1 in .co.uk, .fr and a few others for all or most of our most important keywords and phrases. I think the only prohibitive thing about it is the cost if you're managing a particularly large campaign, so we can only really...
I don't use it myself but the guys in the marketing department have been big fans of SEO Moz for a while. We've been through a few different solutions as well
Certain things simply don't work and can't be made easy on a small screen but I generally prefer mobile sites for most shopping. It's largely dependant on whether the sites internal search engine is up to scratch though, simplified mobile site category menus are always tragic
Sounds like they mean business but I don't see how this policy is even slightly enforceable for anything but huge websites really taking the mick. That said we certainly won't be doing it (anymore lol)
We can definitely compete, although we might be slightly more expensive on some lines.
Good point on the insurance that's exactly the kind of pointer I'm looking for! We've also just found out that the accreditation on European protection gear isn't good enough for the US market so...
We've just been given permission from some of our biggest suppliers to sell back into the US market (which is where most of our goods come from originally).
We've seen huge success selling into Australia - has anyone else starting shipping parcels to the States and if so do they have any...
£5m per year operation on stop as they've accidentally pointed the domain at the wrong server while doing a routine sub domain repoint - what can I do?
Once we realized what the problem was I called them and got a pretty rude response to say the DNS had "spat it's dummy out" and that they were...
Is there anyone on here who's been through the process of using agencies and then taking it in house? What I'm most intersted to hear about is the actual handover process. One of the agencies we use are huge and I know will deal with it very professionally. One of the smaller agencies probably won't
That's the kind of advice I need thanks, we have testing sites at the moment but managed hosting will be a definite when we first start
Lots of big projects going on, both new developments and redevelopments/CRO
I'm quite sure we do but that's definitely something I need to investigate...
The way I look at it if I hired a good lead ASP.NET developer on £65,000 and a junior developer on £35,000 I would still be halving my software development outgoing plus getting devoted developers onboard and out of hours support to boot. Currently I spend about 30% of my day project managing...
Basically the time has come. We're running four companies here with a combined monthly software development outgoing of £20k+ so the money is there to build a good team. Every single thing we want to do to move each business forward is in some way related to software development and it seems to...
Does that have a big impact on the performance?
Edit: and what's the difference between Magento and OS Commerce? We're also looking at going open source
I'd prefer to stay anonymous for the minute but here's a typical product pic that's been ripped from the site-

We're actually happy enough with the quality it's just the time involved in taking pictures that's the issue
How so? You still need to add £4.50 to the cost of each style, some of which are stocked in very low quantity. As little as one per size of S,M,L,XL. Once they're sold out they are gone
You've hit the nail on the head there. We sell t-shirts that wholesale at £8, retail for £19.99. We do sell a lot of higher value products as well but out of maybe 3,500 products about 2,000 are t-shirts. Adding £4.50 to the cost of getting them online is just simply a non starter, no matter how...
