What are businesses doing for lead generation

We work with a number of IT support companies on their lead generation and telemarketing. And you are right cold calling is getting harder to justify because of the lower returns. The biggest issue that we have come up with is when we ask support companies who their target market is they say...

DLA 100k, PG loans of £143k, OD of £50k - Insolvency

Hi Paul, I've been exactly where you, not quite as much debt but still £100k + but I did have a lot more equity in my house. I'm not an IP, accountant or lawyer so can't help with that side, however There are a number of issues that you need to address. Health - this is the most important...

Company in liquidation being chased by IP for overdrawn DLA

I don't mean to be negative but an overdrawn DLA can be very serious, and rightly so. The fact you took out £60k over 10 months + whatever salary you earned on a company that couldn't afford a £40k corporation tax bill doesn't look the best unfortunately. Some directors have had to enter IVA's...

    E-mails and GDPR

Just for clarity, you do not need consent to email a person at a company email address. So legally you can cold email [email protected] by using legitimate interest for GDPR and following PECR. Obviously you need to undertake a LI balance test and only process the personal data if it passes.

    GDPR email

It can come down to a number of factors. If it is B2B marketing, with a balance test, you could choose to use Legitimate Interest as your basis for holding data and the PECR is still in law so you need to provide an opt-out. If B2C and they already have proof on a GDPR approved opt-in there is...

    Marketing Trends in 2018

I certainly hope so. I think this has been missing from marketing for too many years as companies have put time, effort and money into new channels without looking at their effectiveness.

    Marketing Trends in 2018

That list could have been written any time in the last 5 years and excluding the digital and social elements that list could be 30 years old. Why is it so revolutionary in 2018.

How can I do B2B cold calling legally?

Like with any form of marketing it is vital to understand your market, how they buy, when they buy and why they buy. Once you know this is it much easier to engage them in conversation and move them along the sales process. In terms of data, again it is much better if you target 15 ideal...

    Value of buying DM lists

Hi Vibrantcolour, I disagree with Alistair, as I do with all inbound marketing companies that tell you that inbound marketing is the answer to any marketing and lead generation question. Inbound marketing is a fantastic tool, I am a massive advocate, and it should be considered when putting...

How do you think content marketing is going to change during 2016 and beyond?

Some of my best marketing campaigns over the last 20 years have involved giving useful information away and helping prospects make buying decisions. The biggest issue with this is that it is difficult to do, you need to have a lot of knowledge and experience to provide information that your...

    Struggling market research

Hi I have just completed your survey and a few pointers There are too many questions You need some kind of indicator to know how far through the survey you are You are asking for too much personal information - sexuality, type of phone, company work for, job title, age, number of children etc...

    Becoming a value added reseller

The big IT companies are also having a shake up of their channel and getting rid of the smaller/unprofitable resellers. As has been said above setting up an ERP business would be a massive undertaking. Saying that I do know of people who have set up Microsoft CRM and Navision companies. None...

Employing a full time sales person for software & web design

I disagree completely with this. For many B2B companies it doesn't matter how good your marketing is if you don't have sales staff then you will never close any business. Most of our clients in the software industry have to have sales staff that go out to complete the sale. Don't get me...
