Writing a book that names real people

Even with name changes, if people are easily identifiable from your book, there might be a case to answer. Take care when doing as Mark says above that you are as vague on details as possible. Base the whole thing in a very different place, or no place at all.

At what point do courier losses just become a cost of doing business?

Fairly early on. Chasing each case would take hours, and probably cost more than you would recover. Costs of online business are: Lost parcels Frivolous returns Chargebacks But you have no shoplifting. You can do many things to manage these costs down, but a case by case pursuit of them is...

Looking for a reputable company who can build me a website

I am sure there are website builders on here that would fit the criteria, with this proviso. You don't define what you mean by reasonable price. Because if you want someone to spend time understanding your needs, that will cost more. Design is, of course, a bit subjective. Looking at a...

How do you handle paying overseas suppliers?

With regard to the second point, I did, for a while, run a store selling sneakers and apparel. Most brands have clear supply routes, so you will be buying from very reputable, and very visible, sources. We only stocked if we could see that clearly, so the risk we took was fairly small in that...

Do you struggle to get through to the Carriers to chase your deliveries?

In contrast to the impression our local Facebook page gives, I am pleasantly content at the success rate of most carriers - including the Royal Mail. So historically, and thankfully, chasing couriers was never a big task. If a parcel does actually go missing my priority is to ensure the...

    Is telesales dead

Like all things, done well, it probably still does work. We do some outbound cold calling, and we do get leads from it. Not 100 a day, though. Of course, the many badly made sales calls are doing a decent job of devaluing the whole idea, and I get why, after being sold 3 funeral plans and...

    Is telesales dead

Just 200? I would feel hurt and ignored at those volumes

    Haggling when purchasing a car?

As a serial purchaser from dealers, I fear your experience is not that unusual. We get very good levels of service from our dealer, but we are repeat customers and kind of fairly well known there now.

Where are you actually finding clients in 2026?

This is going to be sector dependant, but it is a fair question. For our business (business software) I suspect the most useful things we will do in 2026 will be to attend a trade show, and directly marketing to likely prospects.

    Haggling when purchasing a car?

You can still haggle. It is still no unusual to do so. Some new car brands now do have a fixed pricing thing going on. But you can still negotiate on the part ex value. I like everything, you can negotiate. And like everything, the dealer is allowed to have a price below which they won't go.

    Would/do you buy from Temu?

I have yet to make a purchase from Temu. But I have also yet to make a purchase from Amazon. I am sure both are fine, if you take normal levels of care and recognise that any online purchase has the potential to either not be quite as pictured, or to be delivered next door. Transparency...

    Spending Power in USA

We have had a few USA potential sales where the customers are entirely unaware of their nations's tarriffs structure, and certainly not aware that they will have to pay the tariffs on the goods. Not a massive problem for us, as we make very few sales to the USA anyway.

    Director's and Digital ID

This thread has made me smile. The straight answer to your opening question is as given. You have no option other than to resign as a company director. Discussions as to whether or not you like the policy are a seperate issue.

    Removal of director following fallout

As mentioned above, this is one for @The Resolver Because, with no agreements in place, it is going to be about sitting in a room and negotiating a solution. In any case, that would be my first move - to attempt to convene a meeting to have exactly that negotiation. The circumstances...

How to send parcels to US from UK?

Perhaps even he doesn't really understand how tarriffs work?
