No deposit is protected as such, all deposits went into company's only bank account which is used to pay suppliers ... No way to say what specific pound went to what supplier at any time ... Directors never saw any of it, all went to creditors. How do you put a price of Good will on a company...
Sorry one more question ... is the new company legally allowed to approach all existing customers (we are a window installation company) who have already paid deposits and offer to honour the contracts ? Would obviously mean new company purchasing new stock from new suppliers.
