How to deal with these two situations? Staff problems.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll try to answer them one by one: 1. @MBE2017 Thanks for your thoughts... We have already carried out 'appraisals' and the issues that exist currently were brought up in the appraisal but have not improved. 2. I take your point on offering the manager training...

How to deal with these two situations? Staff problems.

I run a small business with an average turnover of £600k. The business employs a mix of 2 family members (separated in laws), a close friend and 2 people we employed through usual recruitment means. As we are actively trying to grow the business, one of my in laws has been promoted to manager...

Proposal to strike off and BBL

Afternoon all. I have a couple of ltd company's and I've just discovered that I've missed the deadline to submit accounts for one of them and there's a proposal to strike off in progress (although it says on companies house that it's dated 28th June 2022). This particular company has not been...

Student Loan help - degree on the line.

Looks like a good option for the OP. They certainly weren't available when I did my masters (2 years ago) - I would've had to apply for a 'career development loan' through co-op or barclays.

Student Loan help - degree on the line.

In my experience, you can't get a student loan for a masters degree (student loans are for undergraduate degrees). When I decided to do a masters degree, I had to fund it myself through a payment plan with the university.

    Help with Payment Performance History

Just phoned Experien, and they couldn't give me any further information yet (they are sending a query to head office), but they did clarify that the number of exeriences is the number of ledgers with outstanding invoices, and the days beyond terms is an average, so that is most definitely a...

    Help with Payment Performance History

Thanks for your reply. My understanding was that the 'Number of Experiences' was the number of ledgers that had our company on them, not necessarily the number of overdue invoices, and the 'Days Beyond Terms' was the Longest overdue invoice, or an average - is that not correct? The thing is...

    Help with Payment Performance History

I've just signed up to Experian to have a look at our companies credit report, and am quite concerned that the 'Payment Performance History' is showing that the 'Days Beyond Terms' is increasing month by month, but I've no idea what we are supposedly not paying. I've uploaded a screenprint to...

    Smoking in the workplace

To be fair, I think the smell from them smoking outside would be much better than it filtering through the entire side wall of our unit.

    Smoking in the workplace

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice. We have got a 6 year lease on a new build industrial unit, and have spent a lot of money gteting the unit fitted out (hence don't want to move), but the company next door are constantly smoking in their unit, and the smell of the smoke is filtering...

UK Company owes debt to US Company

Thanks - the main reason is that I would like to try and build the company back up. With it's only debt being with a supplier overseas, if there's little chance of any legal action, I may be stand a chance at building the company back up and putting forward an offer that would repay the debt as...

UK Company owes debt to US Company

Hi all, I have a ltd company that has pretty much ceased trading due to becoming insolvent. I haven't yet applied to have the company struck off and I would like to avoid doing so if possible. I have been doing some research and the company only has one outstanding debt, of £5200, to a US...

Accused of Passing Off. Do they have a case?

Thanks for your post. When looking for a domain name, we looked for the .co.uk (which is common sense with a UK business). We didn't even consider the .com version. There website still doesn't function (has very few products on and shows prices in dollars, not pounds) and they didn't start...

Accused of Passing Off. Do they have a case?

I have, today, received a letter from a disgruntled business accusing us of trying to steal their customers. I would therefore like some advice. Examples given below (not using real names). They are trading as 'birmingham radiators' and using birminghamradiators.com. They registered...
