Anyone changed their packaging and seen an increase in product sales?

Its true - and if you look at the Samsung phones packaging - its a copy of the Iphone packaging but its done so so so badly. They have missed all quality elements which makes me think Samsung must be like that with their products - copying everything Apple do but quite badly.

How important is the packaging for your company?

I'm thinking that we (as a company) should create an image gallery of packaging ideas or examples used by companies that are low cost and easy to implement - like the Abel & Cole example or the other examples sited in this thread. That way, although we cant supply the products themselves, we...

How important is the packaging for your company?

Lentinus - Totally agree with your observations (not the promoting agenda/ignoring people/not being interested rant though). Can I suggest a third observation? If you were trying to build a brand then packaging could be viewed as a marketing expense and that becomes very difficult to...

I dont think most of the people here are small. Mhall is a good example.

Anyone changed their packaging and seen an increase in product sales?

But supermarkets copying the graphic design of a branded cereal is not really packaging design - its more graphic design. For some reason - women are more influenced by packaging design. Gordons Gin has recently changed their label from paper to a kind of fabric and suddenly my wife has started...

How important is the packaging for your company?

What i am understanding from this thread is that everyone would like a nice bag with their design on but that cost is the most prohibitive factor. For a bag like All Saints, ordering 1000 of a size - the cost will probably be around £1.50 - £1.80 per bag, increase the order to 5k and the cost...

    Your thoughts on Flyer Distribution.

I hate companies flyering my house or on my car windscreen. It goes straight in the bin - but i understand that you need to market your business and this is one of the better ways to do it. As i was thinking about what you could do i was looking at a postcard that a local artist has my local...

    Reachlocal????

"bargepole" type company - i like that. There are too many of them around now with tempting sales pitches that deliver very little.

How important is the packaging for your company?

Mhall but if you use 80 reams a year we would do it more like £19 a ream printed and i will do the plates FOC for you. Let me know if you want a sample pack. Going back to the subject - a small boutique can get nice carrier bags for anywhere from £0.70 per bag upwards. I dont think that is much...

Thanks for that. Not many glowing reviews apart from potential employees then.

How important is the packaging for your company?

"Sometimes no packaging is paramount" - Lush pay a lot of attention to the packaging and getting their brand across using packaging. They use boxes, bags and wrapping paper. If they REALLY wanted to be environmentally friendly they could just recycle other brands carrier bags. But instead...

    Reachlocal????

This is the article that they released explaining there relationship with Google. http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/04/26/idUS236499+26-Apr-2011+BW20110426 I guess the only way to know for sure is to give them a trial and see how we get on.

Anyone changed their packaging and seen an increase in product sales?

I am writing an article about whether packaging plays an important role in helping sell more products. Does anyone have any first hand experience of changing their packaging and seeing an upturn in sales. For example; i had one client who produced an expensive perfume, they re-designed...

How important is the packaging for your company?

I think it depends on the positioning of the brand and the type of customer they are selling to. I agree that most men are not as interested in having everything neatly packaged - they are more likely to buy into the quality of the product. But i know (from experience) that (say) a Chanel...

Would love to run a shop, please help.

YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE OF RETAIL?! Sorry but its crazy to open a shop without this experience. You should go and work in a small established shop first, watch how everything is done and then re-assess if this is what you want to do. You can make lists of all the costs, programmes, systems...
