    I agree a part of what you said. Yes a high quality and great site will always work. But that doesn't mean you can't start building high quality links. It takes more than great content to get your site ranked. I do agree that you should go for the long term :)

    Blog Comments, Forum signatures are bad and can hurt your rankings is not true. This is not possible if they come from authority websites with strict moderation for spam such as this forum :)
