That is a possibility! Thanks for that. I'll look at the maths and then give it a think.
I do need to be careful not to get too focused on discounts, though. The fact is, we're more expensive than the competition. (We're not the most expensive in the area, but we're more expensive than many.)...
Hello!
I'm working on the copy for a flyer and I want to include an incentive/call to action.
It's for a domestic cleaning company. The way we ordinarily work with a new client is to do a deep clean to get their home cleaned to a level where they can then be maintained by weekly or...
But business plans involve looking a couple of years down the road, at least.
I'm in a similar position as the OP. I currently clean as a solo cleaner. My husband is going to join me. We eventually want to expand in much the same way as the OP does.
What I see a lot of cleaning businesses...
Nobody is trolling you! I think we all wish you well. :)
I agree that a market stall is the way to go, perhaps working your way up from car boot. Research it very carefully before you start. If you find the right product and the right location, you will make money.
Another idea mentioned here...
Oh, man. I am confused!
OK, we're going to need an accountant. My husband can do the bookkeeping and the payroll - he's done these for other jobs and small businesses he's owned. But, he says we need the advice that an accountant offers. And stuff about "tax allowances." I don't even know what...
I used to talk to you when you were just starting out! You were having trouble finding clients. That was two years ago or so.
I'm happy to see that you're now getting about 35 hours of work a week.
I think you CAN get more per hour. Look at it this way: if you've got another 5 hours...
There are plenty of successful cleaning businesses - and independent cleaners - who retain loyal customers in spite of costing more than the competition. Particularly in the domestic market. There are people who will pay more than £12.50. I know of one local competitor that charges £15 an hour...
Yes, the London area is a brutal market for house cleaning. However, there are people who don't look for the lowest price. If they trust you to deliver a superior service, they will pay more. Some people are (rightfully) suspicious of the lowest price. They're not buying a top at Primark...
Getting registered with HMRC doesn't cost anything, and is a legal requirement for any sole trader.
I agree that it helps to have a polished professional image, but by the time someone has employees, they're probably doing the set-up and uniform.
I don't know if it's a good idea to quote...
Does that mean he drops other flyers with his own? Most people want their flyers dropped individually. If there are two or more flyers on the door mat, the homeowner will likely toss them both.
Amazin, do some googling on "decluttering services" and you'll see what some people do. I'm going to do something quite similar, but I have to be careful that I don't bite off more than I can chew. Professional declutterers/organizers often work with people who actually have pathological...
If your cleaner is legitimate (pays taxes, not fiddling benefits), they may be willing to let you pay them via bank transfer. That's how I pay my child minder.
