    Thank you for your reply Anonymouse72. Is your understanding then that this £5000 dividend is completely non taxable income.

    Just out of curiosity the new £5000 dividend each year that is tax fee does that mean I can continue claiming Working Tax Credits and don't have to declare it. I'll be honest I have never taken a dividend so am not sure how they work in the first place.
