It's definitely an attack vector I'd put in my spy/thriler novel. That and the public USB ports like on buses etc. Is it something criminals actually use? Not convinced, but still best not to be daft
Some people got into the habit of scanning them during COVID silly times.
I begrudge the thing about food places not having menus and asking you to scan for a digital menu/payment.
And I'm generally a bit alarmist about public QRs that could be fake/tempered with and lead to malicious...
I wouldn't, I don't want to give my info to *every* suspiciously cheap chinese website. But I buy quite a bit from Aliexpress which is similar. Engravable blanks for my business, watch tools which are a fraction of the cost of swiss made, etc.
The same products that you will find on ebay or...
And a good proportion of the messages which are posted here are composed (or at least re-written) by ChatGPT (sometimes blatantly, with it's saccharine tone). It somewhat makes me despair for the future of forums - a graveyard of bots talking to bots, not encouraging.
how much are you putting through it per month?
I used to use Sumup for my retail shop (still have it as a backup, no harm as no contract), but recently switched to a worldpay system
I always thought my card turnover (about £2k per month) was too low to make viable switching to such a system -...
Not true for a sole-trader to be fair, the difference for me was quarterly accounting instead of only annual (although that is set to change in the coming years). My business has been easier for me to deal with these few years without VAT.
Will this impact the 6 confectionary/vape shops operating in my very near vicinity (and countless city-wide) who sell little except illegal cigarettes etc stored behind trap-doors and such? I sometimes get my late-night Caramel Freddo on the way home from one of them who for some reason thinks...
I voted in this poll to raise it.
I de-registered my business a few years ago and am trading below it, but should be trading above current level again in a year or so as I've been investing in the business bigly. I'm a one-man-band at the moment, more or less, and if I want to hire someone full...
I'm not the target audience, but instinctually I'd prefer to work with someone with a better aesthetic sense - perhaps irrelevant in this field, but it can so easily be faked using a template from one of the modern site building platforms. I put my site together using Squarespace - no web design...
The answer is simple - play Disney music as loud as you can from your phone while interacting with these people.
They can't monetize videos with a Disney soundtrack (or similar litigious entity) without getting a copyright strike.
My (android) phone is now able to take NFC payments using the Sumup app. I don't know if you need to have a certain spec of NFC hardware to do this though.
But to be serious, of course I wouldn't use the list [directly], it's just fun to think through hypotheticals. I'm a good boy :)
Bit rude mate
I posted this because I thought it would be an interesting situation for the forum to discuss. Have you nothing better to do than read it?
looking at these emails, some of them are clearly personal 😲 wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
I'd notify the company of their poor GDPR'ing, but I have a disputed invoice from a couple years ago that I'm happy to just forget about so have been happy to not contact them since their failure to...
Maybe we all did opt in to have our details plastered everywhere, I didn't read the fine-print tbf.
It is B2B, and the alternative is quite simple, just requires a bunch of googling to make my own list, I just find it funny that a pre-vetted and relevant list fell into my lap. If nothing else...
