I think they should if asked, even if not in a polite manner. This is a sign of a bad salesperson who is depending on every call, you can tell if someone is having a bad day and tells you to do one and you can tell when someone genuinely isn't interested in what you have to say.

Fair play, I have also had a good start to the year and I hope to continue the same way but I don't think I will post "another cold call victory" the money in the bank does our speaking.
If we started a thread called "another cold call won" then this would flood the forum but it would also show success and a need for our service, even to our haters :)
I agree, to be honest I don't know why we get such a hard time when this specific part of the forum is Sales and Marketing and it's pretty obvious that we do a good job and an important one as we are (if good) the link between the cash, the product and the buyer/seller.

I think if you intend to pass on then to use a PR address but so that your name appears as the contact. At least then when it is passed on you will be listed as the contact and maybe included in your intro email this could be advised?
I think that if people on here could potentially be doing business with the person that they are replying to or contacting then an effort should be made but if it is just a retort or general comment then there is no major importance as long as the message is clear and understandable.
I think if the OP is approached in the right way he will listen going by the fact that he mentioned that nobody had got past that point yet.
Going by the objection it is the callers fault to start off asking a y/n question.
