    JUST EAT VS UBER EATS

Are there any food businesses on here who use Uber Eats or Just Eat to reach a wider target audience than footfall alone? I run two cafes. We currently don't offer a delivery option and I do feel this limits our customer base somewhat. Thinking of signing up to Uber or Just Eat but am wary of...

Best way to play music for business use?

I am looking into the best way to get the music I want into my two cafes. It is very confusing! Both premises have a PPL/PRS licence, I am aware of the need for that. Cafe 1 currently plays radio through a TV and we have a TV licence Cafe 2 plays old CDs through an old sound system, which...

Why is nobody talking about energy prices???

Hi Joe. I've already had a law firm look into this and it wasn't the case for us, but thanks for the heads up!

Why is nobody talking about energy prices???

Think we've got good reason to be cynical by now! ?

Why is nobody talking about energy prices???

That's terrible! You have my sympathy and I can only second all of your observations. I definitely don't think we are alone in this; I can only presume everyone has given up complaining seeing as it seems to be a losing battle! At the risk of getting political, the only conclusion I can come to...

Why is nobody talking about energy prices???

I completely agree! This is exactly how I feel too but I can't understand why nobody else seems to think it is unacceptable! Or if they do, they are keeping it to themselves....

Why is nobody talking about energy prices???

I run a small independent cafe with my husband and business partner. Our energy bills are 4x what they were when we opened 3 years ago. That's shocking, but what I don't understand is why the fall in wholesale prices as evidenced by the approx 20% decrease in domestic energy tariffs, are not...

    How to deduct holiday entitlement

It is the 'agree how many hours that is part' I am struggling with. I do not want to issue contracts with set minimum hours, and nor do my employees want them. How do we 'agree' how many hours a days holiday is? Is there anything considered standard practice for that, anecdotally or legally?

    How to deduct holiday entitlement

OK, thanks for the prompt response! So, I calculated her entitlement as a WTE of a full time employee who would be entitled to 28 days. She is 0.22 WTE based on her hours, which works out as 6 days per annum, or 49 hours. So are you saying for a day off I should deduct 0.22 of a full working...

    How to deduct holiday entitlement

Hi, I have recently opened a cafe and we have employed staff. I have spent a good amount of time reading around employment law on most of the official sites (ACAS, .gov.uk etc) and I am happy with how to calculate holiday entitlement and pay for our staff. What I cannot find any information on...
