Moving our retail premises up the road

@Mark T Jones do you mean by this that our location should make little difference, as people will come either way? We actually gave up on the idea of the new shop a little while ago, and now with less than a month to go on our current lease. We have been made a new offer and are once again...

Using my own card machine to transfer money from credit card to bank account.

@Nochexman , sorry I don't understand the question? @Ally Maxwell , I was half expecting it to be this way, however after speaking with them, they told me it would be fine, and have left a note on my account to say so, so can't see what/where and issue could arise. Thanks all for the input.

Well I just got off the phone with my provider and they don't seem to have a problem with it neither does my accountant, so seemingly good to go!

Hmm I will ask him. Hopefully it won't, as although I would be receiving the money, I would also be simultaneously spending it, so it should cancel itself out. We aren't Ltd, so hopefully that will make it less complicated. Thanks

Hi, I have been trying to arrange finance to buy a new van for my business, and have found a van that I want to buy. Only problem is, the dealer doesn't seem keen on me using my credit cards for the purchase, and also has no chip and pin service at the moment until next week. He also said that...

Moving our retail premises up the road

Hi @BristolBiz Yes we have considered haggling with our current landlord, but ultimately we are looking to expand our stock and can't neatly fit any more in here, so not sure it would be the best move to stay. How did your move go? Did you move far from where you were?

Moving our retail premises up the road

Thanks @Paul Norman the pub is relatively quiet during the day however , like most pubs it has a few people that spend most their day there. I would say the current side of the street is a little busier however, figured that only would make our signage more clear and visible at the new shop. The...

Moving our retail premises up the road

Hi all. Just wanted to hear some different thoughts on our current situation . We are thinking about moving our pet supplies business from the lower end of our street to the middle, as a location has come up with much more room for the same price we are currently paying. Things are however...

We want to put our business on the market, but not sure how best to go about it.

Thanks @Clinton. I had seen another post where you had mentioned something to someone. That if you took over a debt free business, you could then use available credit to quickly recoup your investment, to reinvest elsewhere. Which is why I was mentioning that we have credit available with our...

We want to put our business on the market, but not sure how best to go about it.

Ok, thanks. So where do you guys think we should get the business to in terms of profit, to make it an attractive buy? I know it's not all about profit, as it has to be fit for us to be replaced, but I am always working on making the shop as easy and automated to run as possible. Currently we...

No, sorry for my poor explanation. I take 24,000 a year but also do a lot of the work myself. If I was going to sit back and let staff do the work (Not paying myself the 24,000) it would cost about 26000 a year. Leaving me 8000 profit a year, when all is said and done.

Thank you all for your input. I understand that there may be a limited number of people out there looking for a business like mine. However, there are people out there that for whatever reason would find it attractive to buy and run a business with proven income. As we are considering moving...

We want to put our business on the market, but not sure how best to go about it.

Thankyou but there is really no arrogance involved. We have worked hard to grow our business, and if we don't get what we would like for it, I can accept that means it isn't worth that much, but feel I am reasonable not to sell it for less, as it is always growing, and we will continue to work...

No, I pay myself 2000 from the business each month if someone else was working the hours i put in each week, I wouldn't pay them that much... it's my business.
