Near where I live Congleton has no large diy store or sports shop which I find odd after both the big national outfits went bump. May be there's an opportunity where this happens?
If you're selling to the public you're better off charging your highest price and having no vat.
If you VAT register you'll have to give a bit to the VATman even with the benefits of the Flat rate Scheme.
Dealing with the public they won't be happy if you try and add VAT to your highest price.

You never know the right time to exit but offer was good and it was still a fair size. I was still able to retain an interest and benefit from the additional finance which enabled the business to grow by buying back books.
And probably just as important is - listen to feedback. Learning from mistakes enables you to give the best service. Act on any minor niggle and see if you can improve.
