    Custom software are fine until the shit hits the fan and your on your own to sort it out, and SME don't have the knowledge or time to sort it out, far safer to use a mega brand software if possible

    When i was a freelance sailor , i used to just add up the dates i invoiced, but also had a seaman's book filled in by the skipper joining and leaving but they did not include days traveling and hotels waiting for a ship to come in. You can always request your passport stamped

    I would never buy a travel arrangement from online small company, but there are plenty of local people i would use. I would suggest open up a office in town where you can advertise your business but also visit the local companies who are likely to use a lot of travel and try to get in with them...

    You need to consider that people only glance at advert so maybe belter to state "weekly hire at £17 per day" could save time on phone complaints where it states £40 per day

    Also make sure your insurance covers fully the recovery costs if you had a fire and lost everything so basically you had to recover from scratch, cheap may not be the best way of looking at it, the small print is either the maker or killer after a incident
