    You'd have to visit the top selling results to see for your self. Just type in the keyword of what you want to sell see the top 3 sellers and see if they're using templates and if they are do the same.

    I advise you to do some facebook ads whilst working on seo. It will take you months to rank 3-4 months because Google need to trust your site if its new. Facebook ads are very targeted and will help a lot.

    From those 5000 did you notice a high level amount of sales? Was this bot traffic do you use Google analytics that will help paint clearer picture for you. It depends on how much the link is bringing you really. If its bringing you £2000 than 50% of that would be a good investment.
