Hi Kyle, I had actually been looking at setting up a similar company earlier this year. I work in construction already (building services, so have experience of and working with F&S companies).
Firstly, a big market you need to be going for is service/maintenance contracts. Thats where the...
I would say you are probably paying the going rate for what your accountant is doing for you. But, how useful are they when you are wanting additional advice, guidance, etc? Thats when I find they usually prove their value.
Amazing what a quick Google search can find.
A LINK cash machine in your shop works by connecting your shop's terminal to the LINK network, which links virtually every cash machine in the UK to over 100 million LINK-enabled cards. Customers use their cards to withdraw cash, and the transaction...
I was mates with the lad who owned the shop in our village and they had a cash machine. It was his responsibility to fill it up. A good way of getting rid of notes rather than making multiple trips to the bank each week. Unfortunately I dont know anything else - commission, liability, etc.

Has anyone successfully launched a business this way? It is something I am potentially looking at in the next 12-18 months and was hoping for recommendations on resources for researching the process, etc.
Whether libel or not, its one of the hardest legal matters to take to court and extremely expensive - I think only the High Court in London hear defamation cases and you have to prove how what has been said has economically affected you. If bothering you so much, get a solicitor to send a...
What is the best way to get the initial funding for a new business back out of it? The investment has been recorded in the director loan account but is my partner best paying herself a minimum wage (so her NI is paid) and then take out additional money (when the business can afford it), thus...
My mate drives/operates a cherry picker (for a company) and earns circa £60k a year (though does a lot of hours). Going sole trader, he wouldnt get holiday pay, pension contributions, etc. Unfortunately, as others have said, there is no value to the business, but thats not to say you wont find...
For the last few months Ive been dealing with my local council, and another local authority on the east coast, and I could write a book on their incompetence. Some of it would be unbelievable.
In my case I am not sure about corrupt, but certainly inadequate/inept/incompetent...however you want...
Yeah, thats the one. Needed the UTR before being able to register for employing staff. Got the UTR then applied straight away for the ERN/PAYE reference.
