Customer wants us to refund £27k vat

Specifically what building (i.e. what is it to be used for) were you constructing for the charity? What do you mean by the criteria presented doesn't add up. What criteria have they suggested and why do you consider it meet the criteria for zero rating? There's no reason why they should've...

Vat number is not tied back to supplier

It's possible a VAT group exists where a number of companies operate under one VAT number - but the supplier presumably would've just said that if it were the case. Do you have a contract of sorts for these works? Who was that with?

2 Companies - Significant control over each other

Company 2 is not an employee trust. Company 2 is acting as trustee for the Employee Ownership Trust in holding the shares legally in its name but beneficial ownership is with the Trust (thus its dormant). Company 1 is then probably also acting as a nominee holding the shares in Company 2 (the...

    Submitting VAT refurns

Have you tried speaking to Zoho Books' customer service. Surely their software not working properly is something they would want to sort out?

VAT Reclaim Eligibility for Pre-Registration Period

You probably should've registered for VAT effective from whenever you started trading - which seems to be 2023.

    Tenancy Agreement

I would find some burly mates, get down to your office and get your copy of the tenancy agreement. If I was a solicitor tasked with getting you evicted from the premises the last thing I would do is give you a copy of the tenancy agreement, unless absolutely required to.

Am I paying too much? LTD yearly accounts

I don't think 950+VAT is unreasonable. Does the firm complete tax returns for you and your wife? Are these billed separately or included in that figure? You refer to payroll, but who does this? Is it the accountants or you? If the accountants, is it a weekly, monthly, annual etc payroll?

    Companies House verification and filing.

Is the verification of director identity at Companies House not wholly separate from the webfiling access? I am not a director of any company so have no need to verify my identity at Companies House, but have had to set up a Gov.UK one login to access webfiling since last week.

Selling 25% share of a property company?

Realistically your options are: - other shareholders buy you out (which you have already said has been declined) - the company buys back your shares* - all shareholders sell to a third party who wants to take over the whole thing * different ways to fund this like, as already suggested, sell...

Tax under the home for Ukraines scheme?

A brief bit of googling suggests that: - the council are making a "thank you payment" rather than paying rent - the amounts (initially 350 per month but seemingly subsequently increased to 600 per month) have been legislated to not be taxable It is also worth noting that, unless you have plenty...

Paypal US$ Transactions - Exchange Rates

This is basically the same as when you use your card abroad and the card machine give the option between paying in the local currency or £ with a horrible exchange rate. Always the local currency!

How do you close down a VAT Registered LTD company

Agree this - HMRC will likely object to the striking off if they haven't had the last CT600.

    Publishing P&L

To be clear its Companies House, not HMRC, that would be doing this. And no, still no news on whether it is going ahead.

Non trading losses added back in Trade Profit Computation for a Limited Company

The numbers you've given don't seem to indicate 22,160 being added back anywhere. What is this amount supposedly being disallowed for? If profit before tax in the accounts is 54,588, then loss on disposal of 26,031 is added back then capital allowances of 5,542 are deducted it gives the 75,077...
