On my phone so excuse any typos..
Fasthosts is a prime example of one that charges. I wasn't stating that rochen is the be all and end all. Just putting them forward as a reliable host (out of the very many) I've used in the past.
Will have to test out your hosting at somepoint then dan!
They have automatic WP install scripts and a big pro is that they also have a backup service on there for free. Most hosts charge £100^ to restore your server to a backup point. On rochen you have access to these and can do it in one click yourself.
You should use rochenhost if you're using WP - it's pretty cheap and you can get a dedicated IP
You can choose to have your server based in London but they're a German company
I would follow the same approach as hazel - if you're doing good work then just leave a card that lets them know where to review the company when you're done. I'm sure you'll get a good success rate!

You must put time and effort into your businesses online presence - not go round building links anywhere and everywhere. Ideally you can put your business in the position where people are...
hmmm.....
It's going to be a bit more complicated than just setting the two sites up as separate entities, look at G's guidelines (I can't post links so search G: 'double serving' - first result)
Feel free to get in touch if you need help planning your strategy
Of course! I would be very careful about ensuring the entities are entirely separate - Business name & Address etc as it is usually the NAP which G picks up on
Ben
The issue you're looking at here it that the SEO done previously to the site, whilst it used to be effective and rank the site, could be harming your rankings now. Things have changed a far cry from a link building perspective.
With a good audit of your links and a possible clean up you should...
Hi James,
What your consultant is suggesting it that you're double serving. This is only really a problem if the sites which are running the campaign for the same products are both under the same business.
If they're separate entities then you should have no problem. However I would suggest...
