    For the UK it's not that hard to do yourself, to be honest, if you can read carefully and are proficient with spreadsheets. I only do UK but I guess the difficulty with other EU countries would be the language barrier.

    My understanding is that if you owe, the IRS isn't necessarily out to pick a fight and give you a big fine. They'll work with you and work out a payment schedule. Easy day.

    It would be a toss up in court as to whether you could imply a term in - and that’s going to be difficult for you because you’d need to argue that he was used to that way of doing business with you (prices quoted x+VAT and then you add the 20% separately): especially if he was a normal consumer.
