As Platform suggested speak to your bank manager directly. If that doesn't help speak to your accountant as they should be able to help you. Usually accountants have a relationship with few bank managers.
There is a lot of discussions here about accounting software. Have a look at these links below. There are plenty free options and you choose from online or desktop. Stay away from big companies, expensive and their support is expensive. Also spreadsheets are prone to errors.

Brightbook is free online accounting software. I just asked them if it handles FRS Vat and they said yes.
If your business is simple this works very well, I have tried it.
KashFlow handles Flat rate VAT very well and much more. We give it for free to our clients.
