That's what I was thinking. The receipt would show the original price of the ticket, the value of the points redeemed, and then the remainder paid on the card, so I think that would be clear enough.

But we're talking a lot of Virgin points here, and the actual price of a return train ticket from Bath to London tomorrow would be £116, so using points to reduce that to £16 makes sense to me.
In my instance, I have Virgin points, which can now be used to offset the cost of train tickets. Great for me, as I have to take business trips to London on occasion.
