Hi,
My online business sells clothing, we buy quite a bit from the US but after this extra 25% duty (on top of the 12%) it's making my products unprofitable. I'm wondering if there are any ways around this? We're based in the UK but ship worldwide.
So far I've looked into:
1. Using a...
Hi,
I'm wondering if we can save any money on our US imports? We currently use a freight forwarder to consolidate all our shipments from various suppliers and ship them together. We import mainly clothing. But it's one of our biggest annual costs so I'm wanting to find out if there any savings...
Hi Matt, Thanks for the reply. I've asked Visualsoft to dig deeper so we'll see what they come up with. They have different merchant accounts, that's a good idea. I'll give our merchant bank a call to see if there are any differences.
@LMDServicesUK Thanks for the information! I'd like to know...
Thanks for the replies folks, I'll take a look at both coop and Barclays. I think Lloyds is just stuck in its ways, I don't bother complaining now as I know there's nothing they will do about it. Pity they aren't listening to what their customers want as they will just end up going elsewhere.
Hi,
I've been with Lloyds bank since we opened around 11 years ago, but I'm not very happy with them and might look at changing. Do other business owners get a lot of declined transactions when suppliers take payments?
We use a lot of US suppliers and the same ones get declined over and over...
Hi,
I thought it could be too, hopefully I can find the problem so we stop losing orders!
We have a Visualsoft site which is PHP based, what do you mean by payment extension? We use the version where the payment details are entered on our site, if that's what you mean?
Thanks!
Hi thanks for the reply! They did appear in sagepay, but when sagepay looked into it they couldn't find any information. The last 4 digits of the card weren't shown (null). Any ideas where to go from here?
I've asked my web developer and they say "it's due to the number of authorisation...
Hi,
We have 2 websites and one of them has a much higher proportion of failed transactions. I e-mailed some customers a few weeks ago to find out why they didn't complete the order and had a few replies - both said that the card had been declined and that they used the same card on a...
Hi,
If anyone else is using Rakuten, please can you tell me if sales are better or worse than when it was play.com?
I'm trying to decide whether to sign up for Rakuten or not, but based on play sales the monthly fees + commission don't make it worthwhile.
Thanks
Amy
Hi,
We are currently with Visualsoft for our website and we're looking into moving to a less expensive ecommerce solution. The ongoing monthly fees are around £180 now (for our 2 websites) which we feel is too much for our business. We have an integration with amazon (6 countries) and eBay uk...
Sorry to hear you also lost google traffic through a site redesign. At least you managed to get the traffic back, so did you not do anything in particular to get it back? Thanks for the tips, I'll bear those in mind.
We are currently trying to decide whether to stay with out current web...
Yes the Uris did change - we rally wanted to keep our old urls and I made a big point of telling the web development company of this but they told me that it couldn't be done but it wouldn't make any difference. I don't think 301 redirects were done properly - this was another big topic of...
