Thank you so much for your help. I really do appreciate it.
Just one more thing, if PayPal keep converting to GBP surely I am loosing out to all these exchange rate conversions. I will be paying suppliers in America in USD, so surely it must be cheaper to keep this money in USD, here in the UK...
Firstly, it's online retail. No brick & mortar store.
I will be selling using BigCommerce, so my own ecommerce store. eBay & Amon are another avenues I can look at going down in future.
I'm not a registered company, I'm a sole trader and would prefer to keep it that way for the time being...
I own a UK based toy shop (retail) currently using a fulfilment warehouse here in the UK. I'm looking for a little bit of advice as I have never done this before.
I would like to try and repeat my success over in America as I have contacts and enough knowledge in this very niche market after a...
Good evening! I am currently using a fulfilment company here in the UK trading within a niche market. Many of my products originate from suppliers in Hong Kong. Domestic and international shipping prices are high here in the UK. Also getting the products over from HK is expensive (FedEx shipping...
I would...
1. Travel parts of the Far East, Australia & USA (5-10k)
2. Invest some in my business for advertising (15-20k), I would try to grow it on a global scale.
3. Add to rest to my savings to buy a property to rent out or to live in (60k)
5. I'd set up a new online website selling a new...
Just an update - I definitely took everyones advice onboard! I have signed the agreement with a local distribution company and I am due to move all stock over during the week. I am also going to employ a friend to help manage the website a few hours a week whilst dealing with customer enquiries...
I am about to get VAT registered. Currently paying 19% German VAT to my suppliers. If get registered here in the UK do I give them my VAT number and the 19% will no longer be payable?
Thanks.
No worries thanks! ;) I have done a viability check (of the fulfilment) using a guesstimated figure of around £250, so if it's only 30 quid pm, or anything lower than £250 for that matter, it'll be a nice surprise ;)
Thank you so much. I would definitely buy you a pint as it took me so long to get my head around this ;) Wow, I see what you mean. So 900 products stored at £11 per month, that's amazing. I suppose I shouldn't expect to be paying more than maybe £33pm then when I account for the larger items...
I found that too, so 15x15x4 = 900
1 million / 900 = 1,111
I just can't see 1,111 products of that size fitting into a m³. If that's so, storage for my items will only be about £11 or £22 a month, sounds wrong to me.
Thanks for your information, I see what you mean. The director I had a meeting with told me that they measure the products then work out the charge for storage that way. Do you know how many products of 15x15x4cm you may fit within that m³? Is there a good calculation tool to find this out.
It...
If anyone uses a fulfilment company I would be very grateful, I was expecting to be paying £100-£300 at almost £11m³ for my 700 items which range in size from tiny (a few cm) to slightly larger boxes sized at around 35x35x14cm. The majority of them are around 15x15x4cm or 19x19x4cm or average...
I am in talks with a fulfilment company, they have given me the price per m³. I am correct in assuming that is 1m x 1m x 1m (l x w x h)
I have been trying to work out how much I can store within that space. They calculate the products dimensions then work out how much of a m³ uses.
This website...
RBS set me up a business bank account at the age of 13 as they insisted I was using my kids current account to make money on eBay, by default I was sent a cheque book. I had to have a meeting with the local business account manager. It was convenient to be able to write checks for a couple of...
