I moved all my sites from All in one SEO to Yoast a few years back. But now Yoast are releasing buggy updates I'm jumping ship to Rank Math gradually. Seems easy enough to import my settings.
There's had been uproar on eBay forums and Facebook groups I'm a member of where we are chained to PayPal by the platform. Thankfully eBay are transitioning to Adyen soon. I
is probably worth looking for an alternative because I don't see PayPal reversing the changes sadly.
The android app sometimes becomes unavailable and I have it as a bank account on QuickBooks where it becomes unavailable frequently.
I use Halifax as my personal account and it has very little down time compared to TSB.
Had my card stopped twice when I was using it at the Post Office where I go...
My gripe with Amazon is that if I order multiple items they come in multiple LARGE boxes. Such a waste even though we recycle what we can.
Singing boxes? :o that's a new one for me.
I try to support small UK and local business when I can.
I have just bought a house and the bank who we are taking a mortgage through refused to give us building & contents insurance because I run my small sole trader business from home - particularly due to keeping stock in the house.
Does anyone have recommendations for home insurance companies to...
Hi
The general rule is that if you're selling personal items you don't have to pay tax on them.
BUT
Capital Gains Tax comes in when selling some personal possessions worth over £6,000
I'm no expert on the matter, mainly because I don't have anything worth 6k!
Probably worth looking into if you...
If you truly keep business and personal separate (no shared PayPal account or using personal account for business purchases/business account for personal purchases) then there's nothing to worry about and you can use your personal bank account as you wish.
No legal advice from me, only a consumer view.
If I saw a negative review on trustpilot which was replied to by the company in a calm and factual way: e.g "This person has not purchased an item from us", It would put my mind at ease and I would think the reviewer was maybe a disgruntled...
It has been a few years since I retailed lingerie through a stand alone ZenCart website (Just selling off stock on eBay for now) but hopefully I can contribute something.
Your budget definitely comes into play with regards to which shopping cart solution you choose. I plan to set up a OpenCart...
Hi Rich, *someone I know* has used a standard bank account for this purpose BUT the transactions are only withdrawals and debits from PayPal and the odd direct card payment to a supplier. No large transactions that would potentially set off a red flag.
It isn't illegal for a sole trader to use...
I use Krystal.co.uk as they were cheap and had good reviews. Moved 11 wordpress websites over from HostGator (who were rubbish and kept putting the renewal price up significantly) and haven't had any problems since.
Customer support was excellent which was important for me because I hadn't a...
I have learned to set a cut off point every day where I stop working or thinking about work. I don't always stick to it because such is the nature of business.
It's easy to let your business take over your life so it's important to have interests that take your mind off it too.
As an eBay seller and particularly as a buyer, I am royally cheesed off at the plague of cheap fakes in certain categories, including women's clothing. Amazon seem to be better at weeding sellers of such items out.
Perhaps that is one of the reasons why they are implementing their catalogue?
What is your budget? I wouldn't be looking to spend more than £200-£300 for a basic all rounder which it seems like you are looking for.
I highly recommend ASUS, especially for being hardy when I *cough* dropped it....several times. But that is an aside ;)
I had to leave my last job in software development due to mental health issues so I know where you are coming from.
My solution is selling on eBay as a sole trader. Yes it's hard to drag my butt to the post office most days but it gives me a reason to get out and talk to people, even if it's...
