And the villains cannot be arrested, censured, or stopped. As if that's not bad enough, the 2008 Chinese Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in Beijing is going to set the standard for the next 20 years. Why on earth we need to vie for attention this way beats me.

FREE TICKETS:

The Olympic Organisers are believed to be phoning schools asking them to have tickets for tonight show in order to fill the seats. The Army and Forces can have whatever they want for the same reason. I do hope the hospitals are contacted to offer nurses and medical staff tickets. You would have thought tickets were worth £250 each in the better rows, and £100 - £150 in the Gods. With £50 standing room only seats. Frank Sinatra was only £50.00 in the Albert Hall.

There's no interest in it up here, the public's mood is what a waste of money. Most think it's a London event for Londoners only. The Queens Jubilee was much more popular and genuine, for instance all of us will remember the choir girls stood in the rain on the Thames Barge singing happy birthday to Her Majesty The Queen all our lives. That was the real Brits.

I'm watching the opening of the games on TV right now, the show was not a success. Danny Boyle [the show designer] should be congratulated on trying to combine so many different themes in an arena which was totally unsuited for a stage show. In one segment the funeral song Abide With Me was sung, why? Before this they had an hospital ward with mock patients and dancing nurses, but again what the message was who knows. If I was Welsh or Scots I'd complain about race discrimination. They were well and truly pushed out of the picture. The Welsh children singing the Welsh Anthem was great and succeeded. Whilst the silly Mr Bean item with Rowan Atkinson in two slots both flopped. Lets hope the next time the Olympics is on offer we say no thanks.

A small price to pay for helping to stop Mitt Romney get into the White House.
