Laterooms affiliate nightmares - list your experiences....

Yep, as I thought, just totalled the page requests Laterooms had from me, from my own sites system - comes to 2'332 - and no bookings yet. The Laterooms affiliate centre shows zero sales, that cant be right unless tons of people are clicking my Laterooms banner, then not
booking, but that many people not booking doesnt ad up.

I have included affiliate links, laterooms logos, keyworded tags and added videos to the mix!

Anyone else had any experiences with Laterooms?

Have you done any research into there usual conversion rate? You should be able to find out from the affiliate site

I presume you are actually signed up and approved and not just serving up their ads regardless?

Ofcourse, all officially signed up/approved - you cant get the affiliate membership without registering. Laterooms are boasting high conversions:

The LateRooms.com website converts lookers to bookers at a rate of 5.1%, the industry average being 1%. The higher the exposure and more relevant your audience, the greater your conversion rates will be. Good search engine optimisation and good promotion of our hotels on your site helps to increase conversions.

I've done all the above and a bit more :(

The 5.1% rate is obviously excessive, and if the entire industry can only muster 1%, it just seems too good to be true, and now I know its just bravado.

Just bcos they say thats the conversion rate, it doesnt make it so.

If your website is very similar to your forum name then the reason you're not generating any money on your affiliate links it is because hotels isn't really something people visiting your site will have much of an interest in.

hmmm, see what your saying, and although my site isnt strictly a 'hotel selling platform', but hotels are heavily booked for conferences, meeting room space and ofcourse somewhere to stay during that conference/event - so its one of the most targeted resources there is.

And with over 2000 page requests for just Laterooms alone, its not unpopular or else people wouldnt be clicking on the pages like they do.

Question is, would a Hotel platform website fair any better, and cant make a call on that for sure, unless I owned one.

Yeah sure, but I dont think thats the cause of lack of clickthroughs or sales somehow.

Again, whatever I change/add/improve site-wise, there's a hefty cost involved and I'm not prepared to keep shelling out more, when what I have is perfectly adequate as its generating the page requests.

This is a website that generates 14 million page requests, I dont think the problem is with the site, I doubt its a traffic issue as the page requests are huge - maybe the affiliate links dont work or something.

Put yourself in the perspective of the customer. They come onto your website to find a venue to hold an event. Whilst doing this they may click on the late rooms banner to check to see if there is an adequate number of hotels for their guests in the area. Once this has been done they fill in the contact form and start liaising with the venue directly. There's no need to return to your site after that has been done.

It's very unlikely the visitor of your site will be booking a venue in the next 30 days. As a result of this, should they decide to return to late rooms to make a hotel booking at a date closer to their event your cookie has expired.
