I'm looking to open a business bank account for a UK limited company but I'm from Spain that means that the director and shareholder is not an UK resident.

My LTD company sells digital goods. ALL is processed online.

Open a business account in Spain for my LTD UK company is impossible. Most banks don't want to open a business account without a registered office in the same country or want a first deposit of 50.000€

Open a business account in UK is virtually impossible. Most banks don't want to open a business account for a non resident. Barcalys wants a first deposit of 10.000€, impossible to afford, I'm a startup. HSBC wants a meeting but is virtually impossible for me travel to UK.

I refuse to appoint some UK resident as director. I refuse to buy some "open a bank account package" from companies formation.

OK, so I have a question. It's VERY CLEAR that UK BANKS don't want to open business account to foreigners/non-residents.

How I can pay VAT return, Coportation Tax, any company legal related invoices to HMRC, companies house, etc... if I CAN'T have a bank account?

I can't understand why if I can open a company I can't open a business account. That's crazy!

You're quite right in that the banks don't seem to want to open accounts for people based overseas, probably because it's a far higher risk of being involved in money laundering/fraud.

HMRC provide the details necessary to make payments to them from an overseas bank on their website and Companies House take card payments for the small filing fees they charge.
