Hi, I would like to know business owners' and human resources managers' thoughts on university recruiting? Is it still a good practice to reach potential talents? Or which practice your company employs to recruit talents?

    Welcome to the forum, Anne.

Given your expertise is in this area, perhaps you could suggest your own answer first?

A couple of years back, I was looking for a diesel and hydraulics fitter. The local art college graduates proved to be completely useless. Several of them did not even know what a lift-pump was!

Some years ago I did some work with a family owned domestic alarm co. He only recruited ex borstal people said they were the only people that had the drive and enthusiasm and he could trust. In the 2 years I was close to the business his recruits were exceptional workers.

Yes, they even provide training within Prisons, though Key cutting isn't taught until their release, for obvious reasons.
