mmm ok the 640, what was it about the 640 which you liked over the 735?????? I will look at the spec between the two, I used the 735 as its midrange handset from my supplier, but if you feel the 640 is decent, I can buy them in for my customers

There isn't really much difference between the two phones, the 640 has a slightly bigger screen at 5" with a 8mp camera and the 735 has 4.7" screen with a 6.7mp camera overall the specs are about the same, the main difference is that the Microsoft 640 is Microsoft branded and the battery life lasts a little longer.

Standby time comparison :
Microsoft 640 : 51,840 min
Nokia 735 : 36,000 min

I left Apple for Samsung and got the Alpha when it first came out. I was tired of Apple's lack of imagination... An amazing company, yes. But relatively little changes across the 4 and 5, then a gigantic 6 eventually left me bored.

No issues with Samsung to date, build quality isn't as good as Apple*, but I knew that before swapping. It's not as restricted as the iPhone and the screen is far better. Happy days.

Anything on Android or IOS will be my next phone. I currently have a Windows phone and i love it's simplicity and some of its functions but overall it lacks too many official apps and features unfortunately.

Should be changing soon with the upcoming release of Windows 10. I believe they are making it easier for developers to rework their apps for Windows devices.

So might be worth checking that out on release before making any final choices. :)

That's good to hear, i'll definitely be looking into it then. I have a HTC at the moment, had it for years and not had a single problem with it apart from the lack of software. Thanks for the heads up :)

No problem, I feel the same to be honest the lack of app support really does make them an unattractive choice at the moment, but as I said before that should all be changing soon. :)

The OnePlus next model. I have a OnePlus One (One is the model) and it's phenominal. 64GB memory, 3GB RAM and quadcore processor. Huge screen and great battery life. Oh and you can buy them direct from the manufacturer for £220 until the new model comes out.... no brainer!

@ synology , I got the 640 for my customer after he called me this morning for the iPhone 6, I told him to have a look as I set it up with him for emails etc, he bloody lives it and ordered mine for we'd ;), great shout :)

:) Glad to hear he liked it, the 640 is an amazing phone, its cheap (But importantly doesn't look cheap by a long shot!), reliable and really looks the part in my opinion.

It's also nice that you are able to replace / change the back of the phone.

Most people tend to avoid windows phones due to the lack off App support.

But when they release windows 10 for mobiles this should all change due to them making it more developer friendly, so hopefully soon we should see a lot more apps on the Windows market.

its been perfect so far, it will do what most people will ever need a phone for and linked to my laptop so easily and not going to be robbed with extra data, 128gb card for £15, how much would it cost for extra memory on the iphone mmmm, well happy, just need all my customers to have my mentality lol :)

Mobile phones aren't about their ability to phone and text anymore, unfortunately its become more of a fashion statement.

Amongst the dickorati perhaps as those less worried about what others think will be saving a fortune by not trying to keep up with the (insert own word). My Samsung Galaxy S3 still works very well and my Sim only contract costs me £8.50 per month and I make all my business calls on it

:D I love that you are able to use your own SD card to increase storage on them, with an iPhone it would cost way, way too much to get that kind of storage. Sadly my phone doesn't have this feature but I'm going to make sure my next one does :)

I believe more phones are able to do this these days? only reason apple don't is because they know they can make more money off it, just to upgrade a 16GB iPhone 6 too a 128GB iPhone 6 it's something like £150? give or take a bit, and it cost you just £15 with the cost of the phone being £60-£90 (ish) you make a massive saving and get an excellent phone.

I really liked my HTC One X, unfortunately I lost it and had to wait for an upgrade. I now have an iphone 5s because I got a really good deal on it at the time but the phone is completely wasted on me, I'm sure I don't use about 90% of its features. I'm due another upgrade in 6 months so I'm thinking about getting the HTC M9. Anyone use it?

I had a Macbook Air and the battery life deteriorated in 12 months so badly I had to carry a charger at all times. Replaced it with Macbook Pro quite recently - no problems so far.

In fact, the battery life is the only issue I have with my Macbook also. I would never change my Mac but the battery life is very poor. I hope Apple are working on this.

iPhones are beautifully designed but the battery life is appalling. Until they sort that out, I won't be buying another one.

Had both the 6 and 6Plus. The 6 was slightly better than the 5 range, but the 6Plus is amazing - lasts for ages and I can happily go out with even 20% and know I've got half a day before I need to find a charger..

I don't make large volumes of calls, but the data connection is running pretty much solidly all day.

I'm a Lumia 925 man and have been very happy with it. Running Windows 8.1. Nice and smooth and clean. Just about to come out of its warranty and will then think about getting one of the flagship Windows 10 phones.

Have owned Android and iOS phones, with Android being my least favourite.

Massive fan of Mac computers, so I was surprised I have kept faith with the Lumia :)

IMHO, anything that runs on Windows I steer clear of. My wife's laptop updated to Win10 not so long ago is already starting to sloooooow down drastically. Registry clean up's, disk defragmentation and so forth didn't really help much. Even the infamous "blue crash screen" came glitched up few times already with laptop stopping working out of nowhere. any windows device is a NO GO!

How old is the laptop?

New operating systems take advantage of advancements in hardware capabilities. An older laptop with insufficient RAM or processing speed may therefore struggle to run the latest OS smoothly.

If this is the case, then it won't just be Windows. Any operating system or new software will require more resources as technology advances.

I agree. I have the iPhone 6 Plus and the battery life is great considering the size of the screen. It's not as good as it once was, but after having it for over a year, a reduction in battery performance is to be expected.

I love the large screen as well. I don't even have to use my tablet anymore. I'd even go as far as to say that I may no longer stick with iPhones if they stop producing these larger screen devices. I've briefly used my friends' smaller iPhones, and it becomes clear just how small the videos and web pages are.
