Yahoo UK & Ireland Dir to shut down!

Just saw this on Yahoo's directory:

Service Notice: Yahoo! UK & Ireland Directory will be closing in November 2010

It was always a stiff charge - $299 per annum. This means its even a tighter call for UK businesses.

So had they been cheaper, maybe they'd have gotten more business.

How much should they have charged, £35 a year?

Damn I only just renewed as well, now which do I do:

1. You may continue to maintain your listing through the US based Directory Submit program. Your site will remain listed in the Directory as it is now, and the applicable annual fee will apply on your anniversary date. No further action on your behalf would be required.
2. You may request a refund of the most recent fee you paid as part of the Directory Submit program. Your Directory Submit order will be closed immediately, and your site will then be removed from the Yahoo! Directory. If you wish to proceed with this option, please email [email protected] with the Order ID, your YahooID, and the URL of your listing. In order to take advantage of this refund, Yahoo! must receive a fully completed request no later than 5 pm PDT on November 8th, 2010. Otherwise, Yahoo! will conclude that you have selected the first option.

Do they come to you for the renewal?
My site has been in there about 8 years and I've never had any reminders or renewal notes.

That's an idiotically written FAQ.

Not that I'd waste money submitting to their directory but...is it closing and completely dead? Or are they just stopping accepting entries...?

Somehow it is hard to believe that, after they have charged millions and did not notify anyone. Hmm...seems not really probable to me.
