Hello

Does anybody use Worldwide Currencies Limited based in Canary Wharf?
I cannot find any relevant information on the internet regarding them and their trading activities, only the stuff that is written by them!

Today I enquired through our bank about paying €17000 to a German company, our bank will only do a daily payment of £10,000 with poor exchange rates, with each payment they want to charge £30 to do it. WCL want our business and save will save us a lot of money, it would have been £150 on the last payment I made and no fee to do it but I am hesitant to put our hard earned money with a company that aren't a bank.

Any help would be appreciated, I make these payments on a monthly basis.:|

Thanks in anticipation.

I think it is great that you are considering using currency exchange services rather than your bank, there is no doubt you will get a better deal. You do need to be careful though, make sure they have been trading a while and offer dedicated client accounts so that your money is not at risk if they close the doors.

Feel free to PM me if you would like more details of what to look out for and try

There is significant sums of money to be saved by getting the best deal but it is important you get good service and advice on things such as limit orders and forward pricing which can protect you against currency fluctuations

Mike, both, I do any personal transactions that I complete through them (I am not going to say how much I have done on here, its not millions but I have done enough transactions and shopped around for the best deal with people like HIFX and UKFOREX, who are excellant to) and I am happy to recommend them based on the service that I have received as well as the service that friends and clients of mine have received. It isn't my main business and I wouldnt claim to be an expert in currency exchange but what I do know is that Global will try and offer you a better exchange rate than anyone else and give a personalised service. Its up to you how you view that, I am not trying to force anyone in to anything, just making a suggestion. Hope this clarifies things, I don't want anyone thinking I am being underhand, I make many posts on here that are not related to anything I am directly involved in.

Hi Chaps

Apologies for the delay in replying, been hectic. I asked this WC if they are FSA registered and I understand they were in the process of their application going through, we are still awaiting proof of this application. It made me a little nervous and so I went back to our bank and re-negotiated a cheaper fee to do online £17 and an option to choose the live rate at the time, it's worked out better than the £30 fixed rate method they were quoting. I would still consider using another method than the bank but I would prefer whoever I used to be FSA compliant.

The firm I work with are both fully HMRC and FSA regulated. Feel free to PM me for more details.

Morning! Just thought I would post an update on my dealings with Worldwide Currencies. I had to make a payment to Germany this week, not huge to some but a fair amount to us :D €18500 and got an online figure via priority payment from our bank who would also charge £17 to do and not do it instantly! So I decided to get a comparison from WC. I had recently received confirmation from WC that they were now FSA regulated and Inland Revenue approved etc. It has saved me £330! My dealings with them were fantastic; fast, efficient and professional in every way. There were no hidden costs, commissions, or fees. I opened an account online and was called literally within minutes by a really friendly chap called Ben (who I had spoken to before). I was then allocated a personal trader and put through to him, again, really personable. In our business we have to provide fast and friendly service so it was great to be on the receiving end of same for a change. I will keep you informed of future dealings and am going to visit them soon when down that way visiting some footy clubs. Thanks everyone for input on this. SOOOO glad we made the decision to change.
