And 'THE SCOTSMAN' newspaper, and basic maths, and all economic theory, and logic.

Gibbsy, the problem in repeating the request for proof is that we're addressing a hypothetical situation and at some point you have to think beyond what you have been told in a leaflet. You have to apply logic, mathematics and economic theory to get to a conclusion. This is where there is a problem in your argument, you don't seem able to apply any process to come to a conclusion. It may be that you can't (no shame in that, not everyone is good with figures, mathematics and economics) or that you know the conclusion isn't the answer you want.

You posted a link to this:

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...-the-dream-of-Scottish-independence-died.html

whwere the only relevant comment was:

Question 1: do you know that Ireland and Iceland aren't the same country?

Question 2: do you think Ireland is worse off than Iceland?

Question 3: do you know that "in a similar position" doesn't mean "worse"?

Scotland would not have been worse than Iceland.

Actually, I'm very good with figures. And, having worked for some of these companies in the past (and knowing people who work for them now), I have an insight into their financial health.

So spare me the patronising remarks.

I don't agree with you because you don't know what you're talking about. Simple as that.

Scotland would not have been worse off than Iceland.

This thread is becoming another ridiculous mud slinging excercise and so I'm closing it pending a review of all the posts.
