A bit of an update regarding copyright ownership of the Logo. I've spoken to and emailed the IPO and taken professional advice from a Trademark Attorney. It is impossible to tell who owns copyright on a logo that has never been registered with the IPO. The break up of the company and sale of parts way back in the 50's may or may not have included transfer of design rights, and the necessary paperwork would have to be presented if a challenge was raised at any time in the future. Given that no objection has been raised against registration of the brand name for over 3 years and with due diligence strongly in our favour there is a very small but extremely unlikely risk of a negative outcome to our use of the logo.
